#1 - Deciding to build in Public
Do you ever feel like we’re all too focused on looking successful instead of being real? So in 2025, I made a bold decision
In 2025, we’re building in public.
The build in public movement used to be common in software engineering and startups.
So we thought, why not apply that concept, to running a more mature business? Why not do it in 2025, when stealth mode seems to be the trend? Why not offer something different?
It’s definitely uncomfortable. Building a business in public means sharing numbers, challenges we’re facing, and committing to full transparency.
But how can we organize engineering events that celebrate Open Source without being open?
That’s why I’m excited to start 2025 by introducing “Behind the dot” a Build In Public series, where we’ll take you along on our entrepreneurial journey.
I’ll be sharing one Build in Public post every Friday, giving you an inside look at what entrepreneurship really looks like for a small company with big ambitions.
You’ll have a front-row seat as we show you how we run a business that supports the tech ecosystem, highlighting both our wins and struggles. By being transparent, we can hopefully solve each other’s problems.
Plus, we’ll tackle challenges that go beyond the typical startup stories you see everywhere.
Because this is a different story.
It’s the story of an established company that existed for 10 years, paused during COVID, and restarted last year. It’s the story of a business with a clear goal for 2025: to grow.
“How did you restart the business? What’s it like to grow again? How do you ensure high-quality content? How do you identify the best AI projects and leaders? How do you find customers?”
We’ll show you.
We want to promote the idea that there are many forms of entrepreneurship, that building in public matters, and that it’s always worth sharing more.
So, hit that subscribe button and join us on this journey. The first post drops this Friday.
Let’s kick off 2025 by embracing authenticity.
We’re more alike than we think.
